My name is Lee and I have been a candlemaker for over six years.
Brackenbury Candles offer a variety of products in fragrances of different oils, florals and natural essences such as eucalyptus, tea tree and sandalwood. Not only do we believe in the importance of our aromas but also the mesmerising quality of our vessels to truly enhance the warmth of every home.
Having lived in Australia for several years, I would often search for a connection to my home back in the UK and soon realised that a candle is a perfect way to lessen the miles and stimulate reminiscence.
For me, candles became the gateway to precious memories, special seasons and nostalgia.
From Passion to Brand
Over time, I began to turn my passion into a reality with the encouragement from my dear, late Auntie Pauline. And so, my first brand was born. From then on, I have lovingly developed my products to perfectly encompass these values that are cherished in the everyday life of many people.
Our name ‘Brackenbury Candles’ holds great sentimental value too; Brackenbury Village, in the heart of West London, was the birthplace and hometown of my Father’s family going back to the early 1800s.
Each product is handmade, hand-poured and finished with love.
I hope my products also take you to a happy place.

The Family Behind Brackenbury
My dear Auntie Pauline
1939-2018 born in Chiswick W4.
We shared many hours on the telephone chatting about candles and fragrances. From a DIY candle kit sent as a little present, to production of my first candles to sell, she encouraged me to take the step from hobbie to a brand.
My darling mother, Patricia Emily Martin
1936-1998 born in Shepherds Bush W12
Sat on a donkey, this photo really captures her love for life. I hear her voice and laughter vividly everyday. One of her favourite phrases was “Life Is For Living Not Worrying About.”
My Great-Grandfather, Frederick William Snelling and Great Grand-Mother, Eliza Wimpey
Frederick being 1886-1939 born in Hammermsith W6, whilst Eliza 1885-1966 born in Chiswick W4.
Being the oldest photograph of my family members, this photo was the catalyst for the Brackenbury Brand. Researching my family’s history brought me to Brackenbury Road in Hammersmith, the birthplace of my father. For a period in the late 1930’’s both my mother and fathers’s family lived 10 doors apart, completely oblivious there lives would entwine.
